The space

Brick on every side, sky overhead.

The dock is a raised concrete deck of about 1,000 square feet, set between the brick warehouse, a painted block building and the north building. From it, a covered walkway on green posts runs about 125 feet along the warehouse, which gives you room for a bar, a food line or a lounge, and cover if the weather turns. It is the yard where the trucks used to back in, and it still looks the part.

Know this before you book

There is no power or lighting on the dock yet. Battery string lights and lanterns are welcome.
No generators, fuel, propane or other flammables on site.
Up to 100 people standing, or 50 seated.
Bring your own caterer, tables and chairs, and drinks.
Every booking needs a certificate of insurance: $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate, naming KNI Investments LLC as additional insured, with a waiver of subrogation. With alcohol, whoever holds the banquet license also carries liquor liability of $1M/$2M.
Amplified music ends by 10pm.
Leave it as you found it. Cleanup happens inside your booked hours, and your trash leaves with you.

The Star View Room is upstairs in the north building, with restrooms on the same floor and the Mill Mountain Star in the south windows after dark. Ask about booking both.

What it costs

Events and gatherings $175 / hour Four-hour minimum
Filming and photo on the dock $95 / hour Two-hour minimum. The dock is included with any South Star Loft booking.

A $300 security deposit is taken with every dock booking and returned in full when the space is left as you found it. We walk it with you before and after.
